New Book by Alister Mackinnon titled Monster Mania: The Love Story of Dreams

When asked to tell us about yourself during a recent interview, the author replied, "I was brought out by my grandmother in a rural part of Scotland left school at the age of 14 years old and went sea fishing.  At an early age I started drinking whiskey and for a period of time I was a normal go lucky guy.  By the age of 18 years old I was a hopeless alcoholic kept losing my jobs eventually I left for the big city, Aberdeen, the oil rich capital of Europe. Worked offshore on the rigs made big spent then one night in a bar I had a spiritual experience that changed my life. I got married and home life was great. Then sadly my wife died and I was alone again. This time without my bottle.  I volunteered to go to Ukraine to work with street children and helped financially a doctor to build an orphanage."

A masterful, thoughtful and engaging story, author Alister Mackinnon's Monster Mania is a must-read book. While both stories delve into the fictional realms the author has crafted, the overlying theme of alcoholism and finding hope in the bonds of friendship and love we share with others is a great way of finding the perfect balance between the author's gritty realism and the bright notes of fantasy spread throughout the book.

When asked, What advice would you give to aspiring or just starting authors out there?  The author humbly replied, "Don't expect your book to be a best-selling title overnight."
