Follow on Google News | ![]() Openings Still Available For YMCA After School Childcare ProgramsYMCA branches serving the Conejo Valley/Las Virgenes, Simi Valley and Moorpark areas have a limited number of openings left for children in TK through fifth grade for YMCA after-school childcare programs.
Yarrow Family YMCA (http://www.sevymca.org/ Simi Valley Family YMCA (http://www.sevymca.org/ Conejo Valley YMCA (http://www.sevymca.org/ Childcare is available on all school days, pupil-free days and minimum days. Themed camp programs are held during Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks and any school furlough days. Afterschool programs provide a structured environment that includes homework time, arts and crafts, sports and science. All childcare staff are state licensed and CPR and first aid certified. "Working parents often struggle to find safe, reliable and experienced childcare providers," says Jaime Gonzalez, YMCA senior childcare program director. "All three YMCA branches have a long history in providing quality childcare to our community." YMCA after-school programs will follow all COVID-related county safety and health guidelines. Children can attend full time or part time with flexible time slots available. Daycare dismissal is at 6:00 p.m. Before-school childcare availability will depend on the level of interest. Southeast Ventura County YMCA As part of the community since 1964, the Southeast Ventura County YMCA is a nonprofit charitable organization. Its mission is to build relationships, impact lives and strengthen the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The three Southeast Ventura County YMCA branches are Yarrow Family YMCA (serving Agoura Hills, Westlake Village and Oak Park) Conejo Valley YMCA (serving Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Moorpark and the Santa Rosa Valley) and Simi Valley Family YMCA (serving Simi Valley).
