Woman Heard God Tell Her He Doesn't Approve of Her Marriage

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Dec. 8, 2021 - PRLog -- It sounds absolutely absurd. Isn't God supposed to love marriage? Isn't He the one who created it? Yet Amanda Nicole insists that she heard Him actively disapprove of her marriage.  As she tells the story, she went to sleep one night and had a dream of her wedding day. She saw herself and her husband at the altar in the church ten years earlier. They were repeating their vows. She smiled at her husband as he completed his vows, and then turned to the preacher and anticipated repeating hers. The scene was as it has been ten years prior, except this time she noticed a bright light behind him. Suddenly, a huge, white figure in the shape of a man, who looked like it was over 1000 feet high, bent over and put His mouth right up to her left ear. She froze in place. She knew who the figure was by how she felt by His presence. She felt like a child who was in trouble awaiting her punishment. But as He got right up to her, she immediately felt peace and love. He whispered in her ear, but with His grand stature and presence, it still sounded like thunder. He said to her, "My daughter, I love you, but I don't approve of this union."

"I'll never forget it as long as I live," Amanda says. "It was a pivotal moment in my life. It confirmed my suspicions. Despite what I'd been taught and what I'd been told, God was not requiring me to stay in my emotionally and verbally abusive marriage, He was actually calling me to leave. Now nearly a decade later I help other women of faith make their way out of their toxic and abusive marriages, into the freedom that only God can provide. Sure, most people think I'm crazy, but the women who are suffering silently in abusive marriages and being told to stay because God hates divorce, they hear my story, and they feel validated just as I did."

Amanda runs a company called Freedom Through Divorce; an online store with courses and products for women of faith considering or recovering from divorce. Her book "From Divorce to Destiny" is one of the e-books in the store and it includes that story and the rest of Amanda's experience. The comments on several of her YouTube videos and online articles are filled with other women telling similar stories. There's even one who sings Amanda's praises as a life coach. As crazy as she sounds, it's clear that there are women who resonate with her story.
