NEW YORK - April 29, 2022 - PRLog -- The editors of Curator: The Museum Journal have called on the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to expel the Russian delegation from the international museum community, and called for the documentation of the actions perpetrated by the Russian government to ultimately support international prosecution and reparations.

The call coincides with the release of a special issue of Curator that features commentary from museum professionals offering their perspectives on the crises and calls for action against Russia. The issue also calls for the global museum community to take concrete action to help preserve Ukrainian cultural heritage and history. This includes providing safe harbor for Ukrainian colleagues at their institutions and helping to support digital assets and records of museum collections.

"As editors of an international journal that welcomes submissions from people all over the world, we strongly condemn the war against the people of Ukraine," John Fraser, editor of Curator and president & CEO of Knology, said in a statement. "And we are calling on the museum community to join us in publicly condemning the violence, and working to preserve Ukrainian culture and heritage."
