Washin Coin Laundry Presents Check to Community Enabler in Anniston

ANNISTON, Ala. - May 17, 2022 - PRLog -- Ken Barrett, President of Washin Coin Laundry, presented the check on behalf of the five Anniston and Oxford locations involved in the program.

"Washin Laundry has supported Community Enabler for many years", Barrett explained, "A number of years ago I was talking to my accountant about extra clothing we have left at the stores, she mentioned the great things that Community Enabler does for the community. Since that time Washin Laundry's have dropped off literally truck loads of cleaned clothing and bedding items."

"A number of years ago when there was a fire at the Community Enabler store we asked how we could help. Along with the staff at Community Enabler we bagged over 2,000 pounds of clothing and took it to our Washin Oxford location. With the help of some of the staff and local volunteers we treated, washed, dried, folded and bagged all of the smoke damaged clothing. We then stored it at that location for about a year until the new Thrift Store was built and opened at Community Enabler"

Maudine Holloway, Executive Director, accepted the check on behalf of Community Enabler Developer, a local Non-Profit.

"This check is the second of our Washin For A Cause / Dryin For A Cause program" Barrett continued," where we allocate 25% of the gross proceeds of a Washer and Dryer at each of our 5 locations to a local non-profit each quarter. It lets us, and our customers, support the community while they do something they have to do anyway, their laundry."

"So if you have that comforter or other items that you need to wash, or just catch up with the pile of laundry, look for the Blue and Red Logos on the designated Washer and Dryer and together we can make a difference in our community".
