Where the Cars Are the Stars - Boats, Motorcycles, & A Mid-Engine Evolution

KEMBLE, Ontario - Aug. 30, 2022 - PRLog -- On Sunday, September 18^th, the Cars are the stars at 8^th Installment of the Cobble Beach Concours d'Elegance presented by Porsche, as they take to the stage and to the green, at the Cobble Beach Golf Resort Community. With 18 classes in total for judging purposes, each class will consist of either 4 or 8 vehicles, hand selected by a committee of automotive enthusiasts who study each vehicle closely, paying attention to the finer details, right down to the correct bolts used for that cars' time period. On Sunday, September 18, 2022, a panel of 48 judges take to the 18^th fairway at Cobble Beach Golf Resort Community and begin scoring each of these vehicles against others in their class, in order to choose the best in that class. First, second and third place are awarded within each class, and each class winner is eligible to compete for the coveted Best of Show, the Most Outstanding Pre-War or Most Outstanding Post War awards.

Evolution of the Mid-Engine Corvette
Throughout Corvette's history, the idea and development of the mid-engine Corvette had been in the works ever since Zora Arkus Duntov started the first CERV prototype in the late 50s. Over six decades of Corvette, many mid-engine prototypes and concepts have graced auto show circuits and test tracks from the Astro I and II to the Corvette Indy. This year at the Cobble Beach Concours d'Elegance, we are featuring the 1968 Astro II concept and the 1973 Aerovette concept, right from General Motors' private collection in Michigan as well as the all-new 2023 Corvette Z06.

Classic Boats
In Ontario, we are graced with over 250,000 lakes, containing about one-fifth of the world's fresh water. With all of the lakes, boat building was a large industry within the Muskokas, producing some of the world's most beautiful wooden boats. We are showcasing some beautiful boats, including a 1934 Port Carling and a 1964 Greavette.

Italian Motorcycles
Italy is mostly known to gearheads for its stunning sports cars with great performance and great design. Italy also produced some of the world's greatest motorcycles, transitioning from a regular way of transportation to navigate the smaller streets, to high-performance racing bikes. This year we are showcasing some beautiful vintage motorcycles from Ducati, MV Augusta and Benelli.
