By: Children's Gallery and Arts Center

MIAMI - Sept. 10, 2022 - PRLog -- The Children's Gallery and Arts Center, nonprofit organization for the visual and the performing arts located in Homestead, with main gallery sitting inside the beautiful and unique Historic Village of Cauley Square, announces the public exhibition of pieces created by participants, ages 5 to 22 during the last quarter of 2021 to the end of September 2022. The project highlights the creative spirit of youth interested in learning how to depict the world around them. Instructors used complex figures like an open umbrella, a sturdy aluminum chair that reminds some early Eames' designs, a bouquet with plastic flowers, household tools and stuffy animals. "The idea was to start impregnating participants' minds with one of the most important things there is in this profession when starting to draw still life, which first and foremost is basic for future advancement. The quiet and methodical learning process of really understanding anything in front of you is called Observation, and that, unfortunately, is something overpassed by those art instructors who forget to emphasize the immense value of observation before even touching a pencil or a brush", said Carlos Franco, Program Director. He explained that most art students' tendency is to be hands-on without learning the first steps, and that would lead to developing poor drawing skills, serious issues with position and perspective, in addition to inability to correctly create anything that is not flat in appearance. Additionally, he remarked that even though the study of plastic arts is very technical and sometimes tedious, is super fun for those who are really interested. There are many kids and youngsters who, for many reasons, were not selected during auditions to enroll in arts schools that through this program have equal access to high quality arts education and cultural activities during the school year and the summer. The artists also said: "Our job is to spread the word, while connecting for life people of all ages and all walks-of-life to the arts". The project is sponsored by Homestead Center for the Arts, an umbrella organization that passes a Miami Dade County grant from the Department of Cultural Affairs to qualifying nonprofits and artists in the City of Homestead, and individuals in the community that believe in the power of arts education. The artworks will be in public exhibition from the 3rd to the 25th of September in the arts gallery/studio located at 13365 SW 224 Street. Miami, FL 33170. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 AM to 6 PM. For more information visit http://www.childrensgalleryartscenter.org
