2022 Alabama High School Girls Basketball Media Day presented by MDF Hoop House

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sept. 30, 2022 - PRLog -- MDF Hoop House will break new ground as it holds its inaugural Alabama High School Girls Basketball Media Day, October 12, 2022, at Birmingham's YMCA Youth Center.  MDF Hoop House becomes the first to host an in-person, preseason media event for high school girls basketball, which serves as another example of the foundation's commitment to elevating women's sports.  "The purpose of this event is to promote female athletes," said Parker Head Coach Brerante Sledge. "We want to bring awareness that sports media coverage matters in women's sports."

Media day will kick off with a Round Table Talk with coaches and players from Hoover, Parker, Hewitt-Trussville, Mortimer Jordan, and Hazel Green High Schools. Team representatives will arrive at the YMCA Youth Center for a series of interview sessions and other creative content opportunities to preview the 2022 basketball season.  "It is imperative that we stop talking and start doing for girls sports all over America." said MDF Hoop House Founder and retired NFL player, Otis Leverette. "This media day is a step towards leveling the exposure for girls sports."

During the media day in Birmingham, Journalists will have the opportunity to ask coaches and players questions about their upcoming season and future athletic plans. Basketball teams scheduled to participate in media day represent high schools from around the state of Alabama.

Along with their media schedules, student-athletes and coaches from Alabama High School programs will gather to celebrate the success and future promise of Alabama Girls Basketball.
