Alabama High School Girls Basketball Media Day coming to Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Oct. 4, 2023 - PRLog -- MDF Hoop House will host the Alabama High School Girls Basketball Media Day & Tip Off Classic, November 4, at Parker High School. Media day will include teams from across the state.  "We're excited to participate in this event for the second year. The media day will also include a basketball tip off tournament to kick off this year's exciting season," said Parker Head Coach Brerante Sledge. "It's important our athletes know that sports media coverage matters in women's sports."

Team representatives will sit for a series of interview sessions to preview the 2023 basketball season.  "It is imperative that we give athletes the tools they need to succeed." said MDF Hoop House Founder and retired NFL player, Otis Leverette. "The media day & tip off classic is a step towards elevating exposure for girls sports."

Journalists will have the opportunity to ask coaches and players questions about their upcoming season and future athletic plans. Basketball teams scheduled to participate in media day represent high schools from around the state of Alabama.

High Schools scheduled to attend include: Hewitt-Trussville, Huffman, Shades Valley, Parker, Pelham, Fultondale, Hillcrest, and Wenonah

This year's event is sponsored by First US Bank and Eugene's Sports Performance Apparel.
