'Waiting for the Bus' fastened to #1 film in Papua New Guinea (EXCLUSIVE)

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 22, 2022 - PRLog -- Box office receipts predict seven major countries with projected rentals and purchases, as audiences crave better content with 'artsy' styling than more traditional cinema created by top studios such as Disney, Fox, Netflix, Apple+ and Paramount.

In recent years, the cinemas of the United States, continues to lose marketshare in both content and at the box office. In recent months, big ticket releases from movies "Wakanda Forever" have underperformed or barely made investments back.

The trend has sent alarm bells ringing around Hollywood, but in-house analysts have high hopes from "Waiting for the Bus," producers and its youthful director. The movie, which stars Ethan F. Allen, released locally in January and internationally in November, has been a standout of the indie darlings, making regular ticket sales throughout its current promotion.

The film is a comedy set in one location with little effects. The simple story is easily digestible and relatable. This type of smaller movie has 1000 times better chance to recoup costs than a multi-million dollar film such as any Hollywood Blockbuster. The receipts speak for themselves.

"The amount of support and sales of our film have truly shown us that we're on the right path in filmmaking as a business and in art." director of the film, Dena Derakhshan, tells us.

Box office analysts agree. Sometimes, bigger is not always better. A middle ground can be the safest bet. Movies in the $20-$40 million range can become profitable, and on occasion soar. These newer markets composed of mostly smaller markets have appeared in the last decade: Bangladesh, Guatemala, Nauru (Oceania), Nigeria, Tajikistan and Jamaica.
