MIAMI - Jan. 31, 2023 - PRLog -- Prolific award-winning artist and philanthropist Elizabeth Erazo Baez commences 2023 with news of accolades and recognition for her art and illustrations from the following noteworthy institutions:
  • The Junior Library Guild Award: "Alicia and the Hurricane: A Story of Puerto Rico" by Lesléa Newman, illustrations by Baez receives the Junior Library Guild Award and forms part of the JLG Spring 2022 Collection
  • Center of the Study of Multicultural Children's Literature (CSMCL): "Alicia and the Hurricane: A Story of Puerto Rico" by Lesléa Newman, illustrations by Baez, selected as one of the Best Multicultural Children's Books of 2022
  • NY Art Project at 42 Broad Street West, Mount Vernon, NY: Original paintings "Boats at Sunset" and "Magenta Lilies" form part of the collection of sixty-eight art pieces featured at the cutting edge building

Elizabeth Erazo Baez is a visual artist of Puerto Rican descent. Her paintings capture tropical scenes, the art of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean that tell visual stories of Latino culture in soulful portraits depicted with bold colors and heartfelt expressions. Noted for her philanthropic work and commitment to the global advancement of Hispanic and Puerto Rican art, Baez has donated works of art for scholarships and fundraisers for Latino youth and women, and her art is part of the art collection at Bay Path University. Most recently Baez donated the painting "Aspirantes" to ASPIRA of New York for the 61st Annual Circle of Achievers Event which raised over $1 million dollars to support programs and scholarships for youth. She donated a painting to the National Conference of Puerto Rican Women, Inc., Miami Chapter for the 45th Anniversary Celebration to raise scholarship funds for women. In March 2022 she was one of twenty-six notable women selected as a "Woman Who Leads Across Generations" by Buena Vida Media for Women's History Month. In 2021 she was Hispanic Heritage Artpreneur of the Year, and a nominee for "100 Top Puerto Ricans in the USA" by New York Hunter College's Center for Puerto Rican Studies. Her work was on exhibit in the Harlem Fine Art Show Virtual Art Exhibition in 2021, and she curated the Broward College Annual Hispanic Heritage Group Art Exhibits for 16 years.
