With sponsorships from major industry players, including United Distributors and Jack Daniel's, Diversity Distilled will offer a curriculum that features experienced industry insiders and covers everything from funding and investment to marketing and advertising, distribution strategies, and much more. This is an invite-only curriculum and brands must participate in ('graduate') "I'm quite proud to be part of this exciting project," said Aaron Kendeall, Chief Program Officer for Diversity Distilled. "It feels like the perfect time to launch something like this. As more women and people of color enter the beverage industry, it is empowering to pair these professionals with the vital resources to help them succeed." Founded by Samara B. Davis, Diversity Distilled focuses on advancing People of Color throughout the spirits industry — by coordinating educational, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities for those starting their journey in Distilled Spirits, supporting professionals through every level of the corporate organizational chart and by offering resources to minority-owned businesses. "Since founding the Black Bourbon Society in [2016], we have seen an increased amount of Black-Owned Spirits hit the selves of our favorite liquor stores and whiskey bars," Samara said. "As the marketplace continues to grow, we want to do our part to ensure those shelves stay as diverse as our growing enthusiast community by keeping these up-and-coming Black-Owned Brands stay on the shelves for generations to come."
