Follow on Google News | Oklahoma Palliative & Hospice Care - Celebrating 10 YearsBy: HospiceServe "We feel a deep sense of responsibility to serve our community. It is an honor to continue to pursue our mission of providing excellent care to those who are in the most vulnerable time of their life," said Jason Neill, MSW, Executive Director. OPHC has many reasons to be proud. Forty employees annually serve approximately five hundred hospice and seventy-five palliative patients and their families in and around the Oklahoma City metro area. Their 1,650 volunteer hours – 8% of total patient care hours, exceeded the 5% minimum Medicare requirement (Medicare – 2022). OPHC recognizes and appreciates those who have served our country and their families by working to continually improve patient care and life quality. Veterans account for an estimated 20% of the OPHC total patient admissions. OPHC has achieved level three and is progressing toward level four certification from the National Hospice and Palliative Care We Honor Veterans program. The program emphasizes staff education and training on identifying, assessing, and meeting the unique needs of veterans and their families. OPHC gives back to the community, identifying and giving to local charities, sponsoring senior functions, and engaging in community outreach and education. Phillip Hill, Chief Executive Officer said, "It has been a distinct privilege to provide outstanding care and education to patients, families, and caregivers. Our growth and longevity reflect our appreciation for the communities we serve and the work of our experienced and talented staff. It is our intention to remain in the Oklahoma City region for many years to come."
