Mason Small Business Development Center - Mason Enterprise Center Expand to the Town of Herndon, VA

HERNDON, Va. - March 29, 2023 - PRLog -- George Mason University, in partnership with the Town of Herndon Economic Development Authority and Office Evolution, has expanded entrepreneurship services provided through the Mason Enterprise Center (MEC) and Mason Small Business Development Center (Mason SBDC) to the Town of Herndon, VA. Office Evolution-Herndon located at 205 Van Buren Street, Suite 120, Herndon, VA 20170 will house both centers. The MEC had an Open House on February 16th, 2023 and marked the expansion with an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on March 16th, 2023 at Office-Evolution-Herndon. On March 21^st, 2023, they were also presented at the Herndon Committee of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce

With all events sold out, the Town of Herndon Mayor, Sheila Olem, Office Evolution Franchise Director, Darcy Masciotro, and Associate Vice President of Innovation and Economic Development at George Mason University, Paula Sorrell were prominent attendees at the ceremony on March 16. Leaders from the business community who took part in the event included: Town of Herndon Economic Development Manager, Dennis Holste, Office Evolution-Herndon Franchise Owner, Martin Gruszka, President of Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, Melissa McKenna, Mason SBDC Director, Timm Johnson, MEC Business Incubator Director, Eddie Hill, Senior Director of Entrepreneurship Programs, Gisele Stolz, and Director of Mason SBDC Regional Partnerships, Vijay Vaswani.

Town of Herndon with a population of over 24,000 will now have a physical space to meet with SBDC advisors and network with small businesses to create synergy for their business venture. With three sold out events at the new MEC-Herndon space, this has led to increasing interest to further diversify and grow the small business communities there.

With Vijay Vaswani, Director of Mason SBDC Regional Partnerships spearheading the Town of Herndon's SBDC initiative, more interest and engagement is expected for the region. The center will provide advisement catered to the Town's small businesses in addition to webinars, seminars, and cohorts.
