March of Dimes Announces Nominations are Open for the 23rd Annual Heroines of Washington Awards

ARLINGTON, Va. - April 10, 2023 - PRLog -- The March of Dimes announced that nominations are open (https://my.reviewr.com/site/Heroines2022) for the 23rd Annual Heroines of Washington Awards. The awards (https://www.marchofdimes.org/events/Event.aspx?eventId=22353&amp), presented by ASRC Federal, celebrate professional women based in the D.C. area who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to community service.

Nominations have opened in the following categories:

• Healthcare Heroine Award, presented by MITRE
• Professional Services Heroine Award, presented by M&T Bank
• Public Sector Heroine Award, presented by Carahsoft
• Real Estate Heroine Award
• Technology Heroine Award, presented by ManTech
• Rising Heroine Award, presented by PwC
• Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by ASRC Federal

Nominees must reside in Maryland, Virginia or Washington, D.C. and can submit self-nominations. Nominations will close on July 23, 2023.

This year, the March of Dimes has already announced its Corporate Heroine Award winner — Amy Gilliland was awarded the title for her work with the Rett Syndrome Research Trust and at GDIT with the company's "GDIT Cares" initiative, Employee Resource Groups and mental health program.

"It's incredible to see how much these awards have grown over the 23 years and how many women we have been able to celebrate for their contribution to our community."

All finalists and winners will be honored at a black-tie awards gala on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Attendees will include directors, CEOs and other prominent leaders from regional corporations and government organizations.

The proceeds from the event will support March of Dimes programs, research, community services, education and advocacy to support the health of all moms and babies.

Since the inception of the event in 2001, the Heroines of Washington Awards has recognized 143 Heroines and raised over $4.3 million to support the March of Dimes mission.
