To nominate a Heroine and learn more about the event, previous winners, sponsorship opportunities, and the March of Dimes' mission, visit http://www.marchofdimes.org/ This year, the March of Dimes has already announced its Corporate Heroine Award winner — Amy Gilliland was awarded the title for her work with the Rett Syndrome Research Trust and at GDIT with the company's "GDIT Cares" initiative, Employee Resource Groups and mental health program. "A huge congratulations to our Corporate Heroine, Amy Gilliland, whose work at GDIT and with the Rett Syndrome Research Trust is truly commendable. I can't wait to celebrate her and all of this year's nominees at the Heroines of Washington awards gala," said Holly McKenzie, Heroines of Washington gala chair and partner at PwC. "It's incredible to see how much these awards have grown over the 23 years and how many women we have been able to celebrate for their contribution to our community." All finalists and winners will be honored at a black-tie awards gala on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Attendees will include directors, CEOs and other prominent leaders from regional corporations and government organizations. The proceeds from the event will support March of Dimes programs, research, community services, education and advocacy to support the health of all moms and babies. Since the inception of the event in 2001, the Heroines of Washington Awards has recognized 143 Heroines and raised over $4.3 million to support the March of Dimes mission.
