San Antonio artist, Albert Gonzales, approaches 1000 #WabiSabi painting goal

SAN ANTONIO - June 19, 2023 - PRLog -- Having sold over seven hundred paintings, Gonzales's list of prominent collectors and collections include the acquisition of seven paintings into the UTSA Art Collection by the invitation of Dr. Ricardo Romo. Gonzales has also donated artwork to the UTSA Alumni Gala and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Best known for his simplistically minimal abstract flower paintings, Gonzales gives voice to the new and upcoming generation of artists of San Antonio.

Now with years invested he's set to create his 1000th design.  By introducing 1000 new San Antonio artists into the creative ecosystem of our growing city.

Albert's plans include inviting 1000 students to create an original rendition of Wabi Sabi #1000.  The students will be invited to showcase their work in a world-class gallery presentation in May 2023. Student artists will also access a day-long apprenticeship taught by Gonzales, explaining what it means to be a full-time artist, how to showcase your work, and including intricacies of his unique journey from homelessness.

Gonzales hopes to give young artists the opportunities and platforms they need to launch their careers.  "Aside from naming their price, students will be able to display a piece of their original artwork as well."

The artists' own son, Reno, recently hosted his first gallery show in 2022.  At only three-years old the young artist can now boast a sold out showing, with pieces going for as much as $125.
