Follow on Google News | An inventor from Javea in Spain. Has developed a self-charging unit for electric bikesThe charger works by being on the front wheel. Then as you ride the bike, the clever internal engineering within the charger, sends a constant 400 to 600 Watts of power to the battery.
By: Velodeon It will soon be available on the market to bicycle manufacturers and later even a retro fit version could be available. Graham Smith has invented and patented many ideas, either selling or licencing the IP. From solar powered vending machines, golf putters, recycling washing machines and even cooling machines for injuries, face lifts and fat reduction. "The fact you have to charge an electric bike seemed unbelievable, especially with the amount of energy the bike produces. All e bikes have a 250/300Watt motor that powers the bike, but there is far more free power generated by the bikes motion, and that's able to charge the battery if you engineer it the right way" Said Graham Now Graham has proven his idea, it looks as though we can all get free e bike rides, save the environment and save money. Plus never need to recharge an e bike battery. He has teamed up with friends and business associates to bring the charger to market. Having legal speed limits on e bikes has helped Graham to invent this solution and patent the idea. After much prototype testing and now high tech 3D printing of the latest prototypes, the self-charger will soon be in mass production. It is also intended that companies who manufacture e bikes could own a licence to produce the self-chargers in house. And Graham could even offer country wide rights or licences around the world. Another beneficiary for this invention will be e cargo bikes. They need a lot of down time recharging, but not any more. Graham has a version which ensures the deliveries get through. So now even the growing market of cities and towns for e cargo bikes can see the benefits. Such as no down time, no recharging costs and refrigerated or heated compartments on the e cargo bikes can now be available, thanks to this invention. Graham was asked if he could patent an invention to power electric cars in a similar way. He just smiled and said. "We are working on that, you'll have to wait and see."
