New AI Applications -Assisted Photo Modification, Extension, and Rendering

TAOYUAN, Taiwan - Sept. 18, 2023 - PRLog -- Recently, Dr. Hung-Chih Lu, a multi-fields designer, used the new AI applications to make photo modification more convenient and diverse. Not only that, he also realized the expansion of images and renderings, making what was difficult to achieve in the past possible.

The new AI applications can extend a person's headshot into a full-body shot, as shown in Figure 1, and the person's posture, clothes and background can be changed as needed. It can generate a full-body image that matches the person's facial features and style. At the same time, it can also adjust the details of the person's posture, expression, clothing, hairstyle, etc., as well as the color, scene, light and shadow effects of the background according to the user's instructions or options. If you want to see what you look like in different styles or colors of clothes, want to share your photos in different places or situations on social media, or want to make some creative or fun image works, you can use this kind of AI applications to achieve it.

This new AI application can also extend to industrial design works, such as solo car body, into realistic scene photos of actual experience. Any experience scene can be designed as needed. At the beginning of conceptual design, it can realistically produce realistic actual application effect pictures. As shown in Figure 2, Dr. Hung-Chih Lu had previously published [Joyful Wander] industrial design work. He always felt that there was something unfinished. So he studied and mastered these new AI application techniques. Finally, he realized that the blue whale image of the car was driving on the beach of a tropical island. He lifted up the seawater and splashed it with water. He showed the happy blue whale playing with water. This is what Dr. Hung-Chih Lu really wanted to express [The Joy of Wandering]. It should be emphasized that this is purely artistic creation. It is unrealistic and dangerous for a normal car to drive on a sandy beach full of seawater and splash water.

This new AI application is very different from the past photo modification. The past photo modification requires a lot of time and effort which included mainly modified, added, or subtracted on the existing photos, while this kind of AI applications create new photo under the condition of existing photos and can not only greatly shorten the time, but also expand more changes and possibilities. Furthermore, the past photo modification may cause some unnatural or uncoordinated places, while this kind of AI applications can maintain the overall consistency and realism.
