Savannah Philharmonic Presents "Around the World" Concert at Phil the Park This SaturdayThe iconic Picnic Competition will begin at 4:30 pm, with featured bands beginning at 5:00 pm, and the SavPhil orchestra and chorus take the stage at 7:00 pm. Guest artists this year include Alysha Umphress, winner of the 2023 American Traditions Vocal Competition, and the SCAD Bee Sharps, Savannah College of Art and Design's executive vocal ensemble, along with a few other surprise guests. "We are so thrilled to be back in Forsyth Park this year, and to present a concert that brings people together from all over to celebrate the vibrant culture and diversity of Savannah through music of all genres," shared Executive Director Amy Williams. "As a community-focused arts organization, Phil the Park encompasses everything we do at the SavPhil, and none of it would be possible without support from the City of Savannah and our dedicated sponsors, including our wonderful media partner this year WJCL 22." "WJCL 22 is thrilled to join the Savannah Philharmonic for this incredible community event, and The Philharmonic has set the bar high already," states President and General Manager Benjamin Hart. "This media partnership is amazing for us because music of this caliber can bring Savannah and the Low Country together to enjoy and promote a world class performance in a world class park with world class musicians. We can't wait for the world to see!" Pack your picnics and bring your blankets and lawn chairs, or you can enjoy local food trucks and beverages provided by Collins Quarter. Picnic Competition and raffle prizes will also be awarded throughout the event. For further information on Phil the Park and other SavPhil programming, please visit: savannahphilharmonic.org. End
