"Aliens" invites visitors on a captivating journey through contemporary popular culture, exploring themes of the human condition, consumerism, desire, and the collective unconscious. Olga Lomaka, a distinguished artist and founder of 'Lomaka Gallery,' holds an impressive academic background, having studied at prestigious institutions such as Loyola University in Chicago, USA, and Central Saint Martins College of Arts in London, UK. She earned a BA (Honours) in Painting from Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London, and her work has been showcased worldwide, earning her accolades like the 'Best Contemporary Artist of the Year' award from Phillips Auction House in London. Inspired by the concept of extraterrestrial encounters, Lomaka reimagines aliens in a way that draws surprising parallels to our own human experiences. Her sculptures depict two contrasting states—screaming and meditation—as profound expressions of contemporary society. "Aliens" beautifully juxtaposes the unfamiliar with the familiar, where alien forms mirror human desires, reflected in their eyes. This thought-provoking exhibition explores modern obsessions like money, love, brands, conflicts, politics, substances, and technology, with the monochromatic, fluid structure of the aliens set against the vibrant logos of brands, flags, and cultural symbols. Another layer of contrast arises in the two poses featured in the sculptures: the scream and meditation. These postures, deeply rooted in Western culture, symbolize the longing to transcend the tangible world and escape into the unknown. Olga Lomaka's solo exhibition coincides with the prestigious Frieze London Art Fair 2023, adding to the lineup of remarkable works this art season. The exhibition will kick off with a press breakfast on October 10th, followed by an exclusive Private View. From October 11th to the 15th, the exhibit will be open for public viewing.
