By: Meridian Waste Guests enjoyed pumpkin painting, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, face painting, and a free BBQ lunch. The main attraction was the pumpkin patch where guests picked a pumpkin and made a charitable donation which Meridian Waste generously matched. This year's donation recipients are East Wake Education Foundation and Good Hope Baptist Church. In addition to the family-friendly fall festivities, guests were invited to learn about the daily activities at the construction and demolition landfill by taking a hayride tour around the property while they viewed several types of heavy machinery and participated in the Touch-A-Truck area. "It's a great day with when you get to watch children running around with their faces painted and bouncing on obstacle courses while knowing we are making a difference in our surrounding communities," Shotwell Environmental Park is a construction and demolition (C&D) landfill located at 4724 Smithfield Road in Wendell.
