By: Jenny DuHaime, JETSet Music Media Linda Marks, a Waltham, MA, singer-songwriter and pianist spent 2023 in studio writing and producing 12 inspirational songs of hope and upliftment, in collaboration with Glenn Barratt at Morningstar Studios in Philadelphia, PA and Doug Hammer at Dreamworld Productions in Lynn, MA. She prepares to launch her 14th studio album titled "A Recipe For Hope" to kick off the New Year. Her New Year's wish is that her collection of 12 songs will "touch your heart, strike some chords of healing and recognition, providing insight that we are all in this together. We can make a difference where some may feel isolated and lonely, and create a kinder, better world.'' The context statement "...in a world weighed down by many heavy issues and challenges…", brings Marks to believe "we could all benefit from a generous helping of hope". By embracing the powerful forces of hope and love, we can bring forward the power of the heart, build bridges and transform our world into a kinder, better place for all. Marks, also a Psychotherapist, has heard countless stories of tragedy and heartfelt dramas. Life brings us choices and seeking the counsel of a Psychotherapist is a sign of finding resolution and new hope just as a New Year promises. How could she not be inspired herself to write to encourage and inspire? A Recipe For Hope is at the very center of my truest genre. As a songwriter, in a world of style-based genre boxes, Marks' truest genre has always been different; "songs at the heart of our times." Her purpose is to offer relatable songs about hopes, dreams, love and loss, and the seasons such as her song "September Morn". A RECIPE FOR HOPE includes 12 songs. All songs written by Linda Marks with the exception of "Love Always Wins", which was co-written with Lisa Jeannette.
