By: SGS Published on December 6, 2023, this is the fourth version of the standard, replacing the 2012 iteration. The new standard aims to enhance understanding and facilitate better care practices for textile products with new symbols and terminology to improve clarity and conciseness. Key revisions: - Scope updated with additional exemptions - New symbols for wash by hand at ambient temperature - New symbols for ironing without steam - Additional dry-cleaning solvent options - Several symbols changed to align with GINETEX symbols (do not iron, do not bleach, do not wash, and hand wash) - Examples for the use of symbols added - Annex D adds information for the practice of adapting registered graphical symbols The document establishes a set of graphic symbols for marking textile articles and provides information on the most severe treatments that will not cause irreversible damage during the textile care process. It also outlines the utilization of these symbols in care labeling. Stakeholders are advised to contact SGS is they need more assistance with the requirements in ISO 3758:2023.
