Melekel Signs Lucrative Exclusive Distribution Deal with Distro Jam

KINGSTON, Jamaica - July 13, 2024 - PRLog -- In an age in which music streaming claims to be king of the hill, artists from all over the world and different genres, are subjected to releases being made available to their fans as well as to the general public; by way of well-known online platforms such as YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify. Similar to the latter Marquee campaigns, most streaming companies offer various types of promotional tools, with the aim of providing equal opportunities to engage with a targeted audience, based on listening and viewing history. The recent significant policy changes in rules for paying royalties on streams, have prompted major artists to sign deals to retain the ability to sell downloads of their releases.

Some have gone as far as removing their entire catalog from Spotify, as India Arie, Neil Young, David Crosby and more. Others have had songs and entire albums deleted or removed from the platform, anchored by a double standard on dealing with fake information, misinformation and streaming manipulation. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Megan have expressed their discontent with the streaming giant, although they continue to do business.

"Dog and Puss Don't Have the Same Luck" said Melekel, after confirming to sources of emails advising his team that the December 2023 release "Ancient Legacy" was being permanently removed from all streaming platforms. In response, the "Desperado" artist has signed a profit-making exclusive deal with Distro Jam, (Distribution Jamaica) to re-release the album in addition to his next highly anticipated release "You Got the Keys" featuring the legendary 'One Drop' Riddim, which was popularized by Carlton and Aston Barrett, the drummer and bassist for Bob Marley respectively. Although, all the details of the deal were not readily available, sources reveal the first new single should be released during fall of 2024 for download, while the full-length album on December 23rd, 2024.
