UNECE WP.29 R155, a regulation issued by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in January 2021, mandates cybersecurity compliance for vehicle type approval in certain countries, effective July 2022. Published in August 2021, ISO/SAE 21434 establishes a widely recognized cybersecurity standard for the design and engineering of electrical and electronic (E/E) systems in road vehicles.
