Follow on Google News | NAAC is all set to establish major reforms in higher education accreditationBy: SIS Certifications NAAC has had approximately 40 meetings with the Apex Committee and numerous Discipline-specific Committees, as well as significant stakeholder discussions to ensure that these reforms are properly implemented. This joint effort resulted in the completion of key documentation and processes that will govern the new Binary Accreditation system. Five regional workshops will be held by NAAC in the upcoming months in order to get college and university input on the Binary Accreditation Handbook prior to its official release. The purpose of these workshops is to guarantee that the opinions of universities are heard and taken into account when creating the final framework. In order to promote broad involvement in the new accrediting procedure, NAAC will also agujugressively collaborate with state-level Higher Education Departments and Councils. The proposed accreditation system is expected to provide various benefits, including reduced cycle time, decreased accreditation fees, and the removal of physical peer team visits. This simplified technique will rely on quantitative data validation to ensure evaluation objectivity and correctness. The framework has 59 measures for universities, 56 for autonomous institutions, and 46 for affiliated colleges. Furthermore, NAAC has created discipline-specific guides that are customized to the special needs of professions such as law, health sciences, and management. These reforms mark a substantial improvement in India's procedures for ensuring the quality of higher education. Through the elimination of bureaucratic obstacles and the prioritization of data-driven evaluations, NAAC hopes to establish a more open, effective, and impartial accrediting procedure. Professor Kalsi stressed the importance of modifying NAAC criteria resulting from NEP 2020, particularly in terms of integrating the national curricular framework and skill development. He offered important ways to introducing skills into subjects like as humanities and social sciences, as well as Education 5.0, which focuses on online and blended learning, emphasizing the importance of integrating innovations into the certification system NAAC is committed to its purpose of promoting quality assurance in higher education and anticipates the effective implementation of these reforms in conjunction with all stakeholders.
