TAMPA, Fla. - Sept. 8, 2024 - PRLog -- Community Success Coach Lisa Blackburn Ullven is excited to magnify the power of HOPE through her statewide SPC Center for Public Safety Innovation workshops. The new view on the negative impact of trauma, including the latest positive impact Science of HOPE research, turned some heads at the PACEs Connection Hillsborough conference last month.

Nikki Daniels, Associate Director of Champions for Children, kicked off the conference by inviting Misty Ross to share true stories of her transformation while referencing "Tale of Two Wolves," prompting us to ask if we feed the wolf of despair or the wolf of hope. They truly illustrated the power of hope and how Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) help counteract the negative impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

When Misty's mother realized that her daughter would share their story, her mother said, "Be sure to tell them how important television was" because it showed her that a life beyond trauma and abuse was possible. The TV stories gave her the hope and strength to figure out how to break the cycle of trauma for her children. As the photo illustrates, her mother succeeded and then some! Misty chose a career where she helps children and families.

Inspired by the vision to bring the Science of HOPE to communities, Lisa Ullven, Community Success Coach and CEO of Guided Results, customized her workshop to include activities for all ages and piloted the program with the Champions for Children team. It worked! Attendees said, "We shared the Wellness Toolbox tips with our own children!" Wayne Morris, Training Coordinator for the SPC Center for Public Safety Innovation expressed, "Excellent Feedback!"

"This conference inspired us to take our "Connecting for Children" initiative to a new level where we empower people to select easy as 1-2-3 actionable tips." – Lisa Blackburn Ullven, Community Success Coach and author of the multi-year #1 Best Seller "Secrets to Sustainable Solutions – Tips from Business, Science, & Non-Profit Experts."
