Director Bobby Roth to Premiere GOOD MEN and Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Ft. Lauderdale

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Oct. 14, 2024 - PRLog -- Legendary Filmmaker Bobby Roth will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award during the 39^th Annual Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF), where he is scheduled to premiere his new feature documentary, GOOD MEN, on November 15.  Writer, Producer, Director Bobby Roth embarks on a thought-provoking journey seeking candid answers to questions on masculinity, femininity, and whether we have the power to change with his latest documentary.

GOOD MEN tackles an immensely important subject that has yet to be explored cinematically from a personal perspective: the struggle of men to "do the right thing". Roth was inspired by the birth of his grandson and wanted to celebrate and examine men who support women-- men who identify as feminists and are for a just and equal world.

The documentary directed by Bobby Roth features an impressive list of interviews including: Denys Arcand, John Cho, Peter Coyote, Greg Gorman, Clark Gregg, Taylor Hackford, Hawk Koch, Michael Mann, Tom Morello, Rob Morrow, Lauren Tom, Robert Patrick, Ming-na Wen and others.

"Men, and 'why we are as we are,' has been my focus as a filmmaker for fifty years," explains Roth. "THE BOSS' SON, HEARTBREAKERS, THE MAN INSIDE, JACK THE DOG, MANHOOD, BERKELEY and PEARL are all pictures exploring the ethos of men. I grew up in the seventies and was active in both the 'anti-war' and 'free love' movements before I really understood their depth and consequences.  I'm trying to put this all into a social context for future generations, as well as for my own understanding."
