Follow on Google News | Re-Releases Can Be Gold For Content Providers and Filmmakers"I love that our older films are being embraced again so deeply. We never took ourselves too serious as filmmakers. We only wanted to be part of the storytelling tradition and spread laughter and joy to audiences with our films." - DJ Perry Most recently DJ Perry's debut starring creature feature IN THE WOODS was re-released by Terror Vision on Blu Ray with lots of cool extras including a director's cut of the film. The role-playing game film KNIGHT CHILLS was also given the same Blu Ray treatment by Saturn Core/Vinegar Syndrome, selling out of the special Blu Ray slip cover in six days. Knight Chills has now just signed a streaming deal with Twin Engines Global/Deskpop and also will be reissuing the novel just in time for Christmas. Other HD re-releases include the powerful 'based on a true story' crime-drama AN ORDINARY KILLER, starring DJ Perry and Terence Knox that will start streaming on platforms in December with Ammo Content. The NYC based Ammo Content also just re-released DEAN TEASTER'S GHOST TOWN, a smoky mountain western starring DJ Perry along side the reunited mountain men Bill McKinney and Herbert Cowboy Coward from John Boorman's DELIVERANCE. The filming all took place at the once legendary 'Ghost Town in the Sky' theme park in Maggie Valley, NC. Audiences seem to be weary of formula driven content that seems to have "please all" restrictions placed on them by current trends in Hollywood. Platforms are finding a goldmine of content by re-licensing lost gems and repackaging them for a new age of audiences. DJ Perry has had dozens of new films produced and released with his Michigan-based www.cdiproductions.com including the upcoming HARSENS ISLAND REVENGE, a 1920's action drama releasing to theaters early in 2025. But knowing that older titles can have a second life is encouraging for filmmakers. Sometimes a project might be ahead of its time and a re-release hits better the second time around. The old saying is TIMING IS EVERYTHING! End
