Nov. 27, 2024 - PRLog -- In 2024, the Busan Convention Bureau (BTO CVB) worked actively to promote Busan as a leading MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destination at several major industry events. These included ITB Asia 2024 in Singapore, IBTM World 2024 in Barcelona, Spain, and the "2024 Meet Busan in Thailand" event in Bangkok, showcasing the city's potential to host global MICE events.

From October 23 to 25, the BTO CVB participated in ITB Asia 2024, the largest tourism expo in the Asia-Pacific region, which draws around 1,300 participants annually. At the event, the BTO CVB presented Busan as a prime MICE city to event organizers and visitors. They hosted a promotional booth that offered B2B consultations and networking opportunities while also creating a "picnic zone" to promote Busan as a "bleisure" destination, combining business and leisure experiences.

In November, the BTO CVB attended IBTM World 2024 in Barcelona, one of the world's largest MICE expos, from November 19 to 21. This event allowed the BTO CVB to showcase Busan's competitive advantages to the European MICE market. At their booth, B2B consultations were held, with the goal of attracting future MICE events to the city. The BTO CVB also engaged with key European MICE organizations, including the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) and the Union of International Associations (UIA), to establish new partnerships and stay informed on the latest trends in the MICE industry.

Earlier in November, from the 4th to the 8th, the BTO CVB hosted the "2024 Meet Busan" event in Bangkok, Thailand, to promote Busan's MICE sector to Thai buyers. During this event, Thai MICE buyers participated in group sales calls and B2B consultations with Busan delegates, gaining insights into the city's top-tier MICE offerings and its focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives. The BTO CVB also incorporated Thailand's Loy Krathong festival into the event, offering Thai attendees the chance to make traditional Korean mood lamps and try on Korean attire for photo opportunities, deepening their understanding of Busan's tourism and MICE resources.

Throughout all these events, the BTO CVB emphasized its commitment to sustainability, promoting Busan's green MICE initiatives and eco-friendly management practices based on ESG principles. This focus on sustainability aligns with Busan's aspirations to play a more prominent role in the global MICE industry. By highlighting its tourism infrastructure, commitment to sustainability, and competitive advantages, the BTO CVB is positioning Busan as a top destination for international MICE events. Moving forward, the BTO CVB is dedicated to continuing these efforts and sharing Busan's vision for sustainable MICE events with the global community.
