Bronx Holiday Cheer at UPNYC Sneaker Store with Slice of Excellence !

BRONX, N.Y. - Dec. 14, 2024 - PRLog -- Bronx Writing Academy students enjoyed a festive holiday experience thanks to a heartwarming collaboration between Slice of Excellence, UPNYC, and 7th Street Burger.

Unique Shopping Experience at UPNYC

The "Pick a Teacher, Pick a Sneaker" event, held on December 12th, offered a unique shopping experience for 15 Bronx Writing Academy students and 5 dedicated teachers. Students were invited to UPNYC, the renowned sneaker store owned by rapper Fat Joe, where the store's team, known for their curated selection, helped create a joyful atmosphere as students browsed and selected sneakers for their teachers.

Giving Back and Building Community

"We're thrilled to partner with Slice of Excellence and UPNYC again this year," said a representative from 7th Street Burger. "Seeing the excitement on the students' faces as they picked out gifts was truly heartwarming."

This annual event, organized by Slice of Excellence, a Bronx-based non-profit dedicated to empowering young people through education and mentorship, has become a cherished holiday tradition. Founder Lorenzo Bernardez believes that by fostering a sense of community and appreciation between students and teachers, the event contributes significantly to the students' growth.
