At BrauBeviale 2024, igus will present a growing portfolio developed according to EHEDG guidelines, supporting safe and efficient beverage production. At BrauBeviale, igus will showcase a ready-to-install SHT linear axis in hygienic design, optimized for better rinsing. Ideal for filling stations, it ensures precise, hygienic movements using stainless-steel round shafts and dryspin lead screw technology. The truss assembly features FDA-compliant silicone gaskets and hygienic screws, with wiper seals to protect against dirt and moisture. The lead screw nut design prevents deposits, allowing efficient cleaning. Hornung notes that igus is developing more products according to hygienic design guidelines and has joined the EHEDG for new certifications. Last year, igus introduced the world's first sliding carriage for linear guides in hygienic design, made entirely of food-grade plastic with FDA and EU 10/2011 approval. The open, dead-space-free design allows full flushability, even with aggressive cleaners. Ideal for format adjustments in beverage-bottling plants, the carriage operates hygienically with low-maintenance dry operation, thanks to integrated solid lubricants. The drylin hygienic design range also includes individual bearings and the drylin ZLW toothed belt axis, all compliant with FDA and EU 10/2011 standards.
