One of the highlights of the itinerary (which the teens will love) is a shared speedboat excursion – Miami Vice style! – from Al Mouj to the Damaniyat Islands nature reserve (25 min), a snorkelling hotspot where the family can enjoy the coral reefs and swim with green turtles. The Nature Reserve is composed of nine islands with a total area of 250 acres and has a rich natural heritage. It is replete with several kinds of coral reefs, including some examples that are quite rare. Other highlights of the itinerary will include cycling through an oasis of swaying date palms, wild camping under a star-lit sky amongst the golden dunes and wandering through Frankincense- There will also be time for some R&R, with sunbathing in the sunshine by the beach in Muscat, and a chance to stay at the ultra-cool W Hotel in Muscat. The holiday can start any date (flights permitting) to coincide with the school half term holidays, and costs from £2385 per person (two sharing a room). This includes private ground transportation throughout, six nights' hotel accommodation (B&B), one night in a desert camp (with breakfast and dinner), shared return speedboat ride to the Damaniyat Islands, activities/sightseeing as per the itinerary and a guide (in Oman). Flights extra (bookable through Corinthian Travel). For bookings call Corinthian Travel on 020 3583 6089 (www.corinthiantravel.co.uk). End
