GENEVA - Jan. 23, 2025 - PRLog -- SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 002.25, summarizing Thailand's updated regulation on the use of titanium dioxide and its nano form in cosmetic products in powder, or in other forms as a permitted colorant and sunscreen ingredient.

Coming into force one day after its November 18, 2024, publication in the Thai Royal Government Gazette, the regulations differentiate between products based on the form and application of titanium dioxide, specifying distinct compliance standards.

A transition period of 180 days from the date of publication has been granted, with noncompliant products no longer permitted on the market after this date.

SGS experts publish SafeGuardS to keep stakeholders informed about regulatory changes that could impact their business. SafeGuardS 002.25 includes a helpful table detailing the forms and application of titanium dioxide in cosmetics and maximum authorized concentrations in ready-to-use preparations.

Stakeholders are encouraged to refer to the original SafeGuardS 002.25 for more details.
