Empowering Survivors: Advocates for Growth, Leadership & Meaningful Independence (AGLMI)

ATLANTA - Jan. 31, 2025 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA – Ashley Jordan, founder of Advocates for Growth, Leadership, and Meaningful Independence (AGLMI), proudly announces the organization's impactful 2025 event schedule. AGLMI, a Certified 501(c)(3) non-profit, is dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence through advocacy, mentorship, and life-changing resources.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and AGLMI is calling for volunteers, partnerships, and donations to amplify its mission of supporting survivors. The organization is eager to collaborate with educators, community leaders, businesses, and individuals to bring about meaningful change. Key February events include:

• February 8, 2025 – Teen Dating Violence Awareness Summit (Lawrenceville, GA): Hosted by Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV), this summit will provide 20 teen girls aged 12-19 with resources to recognize and address teen dating violence. AGLMI seeks donations to cover transportation for attendees.
• February 19, 2025 – Teen Summit (Kendrick Middle School, Jonesboro, GA): Organized by AGLMI, this event features interactive discussions on healthy vs. unhealthy relationships, recognizing red flags, digital dating abuse, social media safety, and ways to seek help or support friends.

AGLMI's services include mentorship programs, wellness initiatives, legal advocacy, and emergency assistance, all aimed at fostering self-esteem, mental wellness, and empowerment. "We believe every woman has the strength to heal and rebuild," said Ashley Jordan. "With the right support, survivors can overcome domestic violence and thrive."

Founded in 2013 as A Girl Like Me Inc., the organization rebranded in 2024 to reflect its expanded mission under Jordan's leadership. A survivor herself, Jordan is committed to addressing survivors' immediate needs while tackling broader challenges like homelessness and gun violence.

Looking ahead, AGLMI has planned several transformative events for 2025:

• April 2025 – Women Empowerment Summit: This event will explore topics such as cyberbullying, mental health, and depression in the workplace.
• Spring 2025 – Spring Cleaning Adult Field Day: A fun, team-based fundraiser to support building a clothing store for survivors.
• August 2025 – Back-to-School Drive: In partnership with local leaders, this event will provide school supplies and resources for teens and families in need.
• October 17, 2025 – 1st Annual Empowering Survivors Gala: A black-tie celebration to honor resilience, raise funds, and showcase AGLMI's ongoing efforts.
• Podcast Launch – The Voices of Resilience: A Girl Like Me Podcast: Ashley Jordan will host conversations with survivors and thought leaders to inspire and empower listeners.
