Are You Prepared to Enter the Healthcare System?

WANTAGH, N.Y. - Feb. 13, 2025 - PRLog -- Are you prepared to enter the healthcare system as a patient? Probably not. Scared and vulnerable, you may need support, or you may be supporting others who are feeling the same.

Once, there was no help available. But now, you can be trained to better understand patient safety and the set of techniques patients and their families can use to lower the risks of medical care. (And yes, it can be risky: medical error consistently ranks among the top causes of death.)

Where can people learn these skills? At Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy's annual Family-Centered Patient Advocacy training. The 2025 training will be held in person in Plainview, NY on March 27-28.

Over two days, participants will learn about the kinds of medical error and how they occur, how to optimize communication between patients, families and medical providers, who to see if a problem arises, the question of bias in health care, and much more.

As well as the training, there will be presentations by national and international leaders in the field of patient safety.

The event is "Family-Centered", but those hoping to become or maintain accreditation as professional Board-Certified patient advocates, can also earn necessary CE credits. And such graduates of the training will be listed on Pulse's website, and may display Pulse's logo on their own.
