WASHINGTON - Feb. 14, 2025 - PRLog -- Quality expert Daryl Guberman is sounding the alarm on the deep-seated conflicts of interest surrounding Connecticut Attorney General William Tong and the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG). As Tong prepares to take over as NAAG's next president, Guberman reveals how NAAG's ties to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Commerce, and private accreditation bodies like the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the American National Accreditation Board (ANAB) create an unchecked system of influence, financial conflicts, and regulatory capture that threatens the integrity of government oversight.

"It's no surprise that Attorney General Tong has positioned himself against Elon Musk in what can only be described as an unconstitutional power grab," said Guberman. "But before we even discuss Musk, let's take a hard look at Tong himself and the tangled web of conflicts he is embedded in."

The Corrupt Financial Web

NAAG's collaboration with DHS raises serious concerns, as DHS and the Department of Commerce are not only members of ANSI and ANAB but also paying customers. This means the very agencies responsible for enforcing regulations are financially invested in the organizations they are supposed to oversee.
  • DHS has an official representative on the ANSI/ANAB board who receives a federal salary and an additional $262,000 from ANSI/ANAB.

  • The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), which operates under the Department of Commerce, NIST also sits on ANSI/ANAB's board while receiving both state and federal funding—64.85% of which goes to management and personnel salaries.

  • Another NIST official on the ANSI/ANAB board receives an additional $120,000 from ANSI/ANAB, on top of his federal salary, creating a blatant conflict of interest.

  • ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and ANAB (American National Accreditation Board)—Two U.S. entities that dictate industry standards yet have been compromised by corporate interests. ANSI-ANAB founded the IAF (International Accreditation Forum incorporated in Delaware.) and sister organization ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) and association of accreditation bodies national and international which are equivalent in accreditation to ANSI-ANAB. ANSI-ANAB are underwriters for the IAF/ILAC taking all liability for both systematic and product failure.

  • Guberman also highlights a recent effort by ANSI-ANAB to establish a unified global accreditation entity named Global Accreditation Cooperation (GLOBAC) a unification of IAF-ILAC. He argues that this move is intended to dissolve ANSI-ANAB's liability while preserving their control over global accreditation process

A Nationwide Scandal: The NIST-MEP Machine Operating in All 50 States

One of the most egregious government-backed financial loopholes is the National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP). While many assume this is a public service initiative, in reality,it is a government-subsidized financial funnel operating in all 50 states—taking in both state and federal funds while spending nearly 65% of its budget on executive salaries and management.

Although each state operates its own NIST MEP affiliate, the same corrupt structure applies nationwide. In Connecticut, this entity is called Connstep—an organization that misrepresents itself as a not-for-profit while functioning as a shadow extension of the government. It receives both state and federal funding while misleading businesses and taxpayers into believing it operates independently.

Worse yet, U.S. Senators and Congressmen have been caught collaborating with Connstep, despite the clear conflicts of interest. Photographic evidence confirms that high-ranking Connecticut politicians are openly working alongside this entity, further proving that government leaders are complicit in the regulatory capture and financial corruption tied to NIST MEP. A Letter Confirms: NIST MEP Was Internally Considered a "Money Laundering" Scheme

Guberman has also obtained a letter from a former NIST MEP employee that directly exposes the organization's fraudulent nature. The whistleblower, who previously worked within the NIST MEP system, wrote:

NIST MEP employee: But not CONNSTEP:

"Relationships and co-funding of other non-profit agencies was jokingly called "money laundering".NIST-MEP would become a sponsor for other nonprofits, give them money and then they would give us money.

NIST MEP employee QUOTE: Connstep Employee

"CONNSTEP is the most well-connected organization of our type in Connecticut"

This damning statement from an insiders confirms what Guberman has been warning about for years—NIST MEP is not a legitimate business support organization but rather a government-backed operation funneling taxpayer dollars into salaries, political influence, and regulatory capture.

"What makes this even worse is that they try to play it off as an independent organization, but it's not," said Guberman. "Connstep is nothing more than a government agency hiding behind a non-profit label, allowing them to sidestep accountability while raking in taxpayer dollars."

The same deceptive structure applies in every state—each with its own NIST MEP branch, feeding from the same federal and state funding pool while draining resources into executive paychecks instead of true industrial advancement.

A Warning to Elon Musk: The Real Target is ANSI and ANAB

Guberman is calling on Elon Musk to dig deeper into ANSI and ANAB's central role in government corruption.

"Elon, stay the course. You have already begun unraveling the deep-seated corruption within these government agencies, but you must investigate ANSI- ANAB. These organizations are the hinge pin for all these agencies, enabling regulatory capture, conflicts of interest, and financial mismanagement."

This system, Guberman argues, is responsible for failures across multiple industries—from the compromised integrity of Boeing's aircraft, which were produced without on-site auditing for 22 years, to the unchecked fraud occurring within accreditation bodies, manufacturing programs, and even government-funded initiatives like NIST MEP and Connstep.

Elon Musk, The President, and U.S. Lawmakers Have the Evidence – Now It's Time to Act

Daryl Guberman has personally sent this information to Elon Musk, the President, and several U.S. Senators and Congressmen—none of whom are from Connecticut.

"Elon, you must get a hold of me at 203-556-1493 to bust this criminal piñata wide open. This isn't just a problem in Washington, D.C.—this is a cancerous tumor spreading in every state of the union. The corruption runs deep, but with the right exposure, we can tear down this house of cards."
