Jared Hortiales to Represent Mexico at the United Nations ECOSOC

March 5, 2025 - PRLog -- Jared Hortiales, a 23-year-old young leader, has been selected to be part of the Mexican delegation representing Mexico at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). As a member of The Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) international delegation, Hortiales will actively participate in this global forum, which will take place at the United Nations headquarters in New York from April 15 to 17, 2025.

Originally from the State of Mexico and currently residing in Baja California, Hortiales has established himself as one of the most prominent young voices in public policy and global governance. His academic and professional trajectory has led him to participate in high-level international forums, reinforcing his commitment to sustainable development and innovation in public policies.

With a solid educational background, Hortiales holds degrees in Political Science and Public Administration from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx), Public Security from the Universidad Digital del Estado de México (UDEMÉX), and Law from the Universidad Virtual del Estado de Guanajuato (UVEG). Additionally, he has specialized in key areas for technological development and global security. He is currently a scholarship recipient from the Organization of American States (OAS), allowing him to pursue a Computer Science Engineering degree at MIU University in Miami, Florida. Furthermore, he is enrolled in a scholarship program at Saint Leo University, studying Cybersecurity Engineering, and is pursuing a Master's in Public Administration and Government at UDEMÉX.

His participation in ECOSOC is the result of a sustained commitment to youth representation in international decision-making spaces. In 2024, Hortiales represented Mexico at the United Nations General Assembly, where he participated in the Summit of the Future, a key event for shaping global sustainable development strategies. In 2023, his leadership was recognized with the Youth Leadership Award from The Washington Academy of Political Arts and Sciences. Additionally, in 2024, he received the Baja California State Youth Award, standing out as one of the most influential figures in the state's political and social spheres.
