GoofBoard Products Introduces The Shredder and Three Other New Balance Boards

Huntington Beach, CA, (March 30, 2009)—GoofBoard Products, makers of the original GoofBoard™ balance board has now introduced four new balance boards designed for surfers. The new  “Shredder”  is designed for short boarders who are looking for a more realistic surfing motion in a balance board.  Users ride “rail-to-rail” on the board and accompanying pipe, creating increased “in-the-barrel” control and endurance for users, compared to other balance boards which rely on a “nose-to-tail” rocking motion.
In addition to the new Shredder, GoofBoard Products also introduced the “Fish” model that gives riders the same realistic surfing experience as the other GoofBoards, on a retro- fish style board. The third new board is the “Heavy”, a longer, wider version of the original “GoofBoard”. “The Heavy” allows the long-boarder more steps, and rides with the feel of a bigger long-board.  All the new boards perform the “Goofin’” orientation only (rail-to-rail), keeping the purchase price down.  With the new models, the user can select the board best suited to his or her preferred surfing style.
The original GoofBoard™, now known as the “GoofBoard Classic Dual”, was introduced in January, 2009, offering a package that includes the balance board and two different pipes, allowing users to ride “rail-to-rail” or “nose-to-tail”.  The company has also introduced the “GoofBoard Classic”, which is the same board, with one long pipe for those who prefer to stick with the “rail-to-rail” motion (Goofin’) that the GoofBoard™ has made famous. The entire collection of GoofBoard products and video demonstration can be found at www.goofboard.com.
The original GoofBoard was designed for surfers looking for a balance board that would give them more realistic surfing motion while improving their skills, balance and overall conditioning. The early, positive reception to the GoofBoard at the Action Sports Retailers Show in San Diego, and subsequent events resulted in the series of new boards being introduced by GoofBoard Products.
GoofBoard Products has also entered into an agreement to be one of the sponsors for the 2009 Professional Longboard Association events.  The complete line of GoofBoard Products will be demonstrated at the five PLA contests in 2009.
More information on each of the new GoofBoard products, and ordering information can be found at www.goofboard.com, or by calling 800-925-3240.

About the GoofBoard™
Surfer and future GoofBoard founder, Armin Brown, tested out a friend’s traditional balance board, liked it, borrowed it, began using it regularly, and never returned it.  Goofin’ around at work one day, Armin came across a piece of 16” x 48” plywood and a paper packaging tube and demonstrated his new balancing skills to co-worker, just to get a laugh.  Upon conclusion of the levity, Armin had the notion of rotating the plywood 90° to become parallel with the length of the paper tube, to ride more like a surfboard.  And thus the GoofBoard concept was born.

The entire line of GoofBoard products are designed to provide a realistic sense of surfing for balance board users. All the boards are designed to ride "rail-to-rail" for the most complete sense of surfing, as opposed to a simple rocking motion of other boards. All the boards are built from a quality Baltic birch plywood, and sprayed with three coats of varnish for a top notch finish. The grip tape on the deck of each board adds style with function and is comfortable on the bare feet. The pipes will never crack or chip, giving a long-lasting quality for GoofBoard users.
