Huntington Beach Lions Club designates Off the Streets as a recipient of 19th annual Crabfest fundraiser

February 2, 2016 (Huntington Beach, CA)—The Huntington Beach Lions Club has designated Off the Streets Huntington Beach to be one of four nonprofit organizations in Huntington Beach to benefit from revenues raised from the Club’s 18th annual Crabfest on March 30, 2016.

The event features all you can eat crab, silent auction, raffle, and opportunity drawing.  100% of the net proceeds are distributed each year, and this year the club has selected four nonprofit organizations to receive funds from the event.

“We are extremely thankful to the Lions Club for this recognition and opportunity to help those in our community that are less fortunate and in need of housing. Any and all funds we receive go directly into our programs to help secure housing for those that need it,” said Larry Burns, founder of Off the Streets-Huntington Beach.

Off the Streets-Huntington Beach (www.offthestreetsnow.com/hb) helps homeless people secure permanent housing and assists with furnishing for the apartment or home.  Since June 2014 the nonprofit has helped more than 200 people move into permanent housing after being homeless. The organization helps those applying for housing assistance by providing the security deposits and any help they can with furniture, appliances and household needs.  Applicants must meet certain requirements to be accepted into the program.  Details can be found at www.offthestreetsnow.com/hb.

Crabfest-2016 will be on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at Old World Festival Hall. Tickets for the event are available online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/huntington-beach-host-lions-....  The event is expected to raise several thousand dollars for each of the nonprofits.
