Miss Teen Oldham County is Crowned!

Jan. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- This week, the Miss Teen Kentucky - World organization began selecting area representatives to compete for the title of Miss Teen Kentucky-World.   On January 21st, 2010, 18 year old, Lindsey Deem Gilbert, of Crestwood, Kentucky, was crowned Miss Teen Oldham County - World 2010.  Lindsey is a Senior at the Christian Academy of Louisville, Kentucky.  Lindsey is very involved with the Louisville community.  She volunteered, recently, for Wayside Christian Mission, which is a single mother’s homeless shelter.   "Each week holds a different opportunity, such as serving meals, helping with the shelter’s choir and making crafts with the children", says Lindsey. "I also volunteer at a local nursing home to visit the elderly because I hope to someday become a nurse. I have a gift of caring for people.  Brightening their day makes me smile.  At church, I help build homes for families hit by natural disasters.  Even though there are an endless number of people in need, I know that I took a small part in giving shelter to the less fortunate."  After traveling to Zambia, Africa with a medical mission group, Lindsey's passion has become mission trips.

Lindsey likes to dance, ice-skate, swim, go horseback riding, run, cheer, model, play piano and care for others.  At the Christian Academy of Louisville, Lindsey is involved with the school yearbook, Beta Club, Spanish Club, Art Club and the Kentucky Youth Assembly.  After Lindsey completes a busy day at school, she works as a Bridal Consultant and Bridal Retail Buyer.
 
Lindsey will compete on April 10th 2010 at 7pm in Somerset Kentucky, at the Center for Rural Development, for the coveted title of Miss Teen Kentucky-World 2010 and to be the next face of the "Bluegrass Fashion House" (www.bluegrassfashionhouse.com).  As a part of being Miss Teen Oldham County, Lindsey will take requests for appearances in and around the Oldham Count area.  Appearance requests may be made for Miss Teen Oldham Co.-World as well as all area representatives, by contacting the Miss Teen Kentucky-World organization at appearances@misskentucky.net.

Lisa Clark, the Executive Director of Miss Teen Kentucky-World, says it is a great honor to be selected as an area representative for this organization.  "Area representatives are recognized throughout the year and are included in appearances and community activities with the state title holder", says Clark.  The Miss Teen Kentucky-World organization continues to award local area titles, and is currently accepting all applications at www.teenkentucky.com for teens 13-17.  Candidates 18-25 should visit www.misskentucky.net.
