May 13, 2010 - PRLog -- When the auto manufacturer Jeep is brought up in conversation, most people think of one of the two flagship models that Jeep has built its reputation on over the years: Wrangler and Grand Cherokee.  For the more extreme and adventurous individual there is the Wrangler, which can be had with 2 or 4 door, with or without a hardtop, and street-friendly or off-road ready.  The Grand Cherokee is a more refined and option packed alternative to the Wrangler for those Jeep and SUV fans looking for something more modest while still holding the signature aggressive Jeep stance and off-road capabilities.  For 2011, the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee is sure to be a head-turner and hopefully will breathe more life into the surviving Chrysler Company.

Chrysler has announced pricing for the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, starting with the “base” Laredo 4x4 model at $32,995 (including a $780 destination charge).  The upper-level Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 starts at a commanding price of $39,995.  Topping the Grand Cherokee Range is the Overland 4x4 model carrying a sticker price of $42,995.

Autoblog points out, "To say that Chrysler has a lot riding on the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee would be an understatement of epic proportions. Though the bulk of the new SUVs development was carried out under the not-so-watchful eye of Cerberus, as far as the public at large is concerned, this will be the first heavily updated nameplate to come out Chrysler's studios since its much publicized bankruptcy and partnership with Italy's Fiat."

All three trim levels come standard with Chrysler’s new 3.6 liter V6 engine providing 290 horsepower while maintaining 23mpg on the highway.  For competition comparison sake, the new Toyota 4-Runner, starting at $30,915 is shy 20 horsepower and gets 1 mpg worse gas mileage on the new Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Test drive the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee at Chapman Chrysler Jeep Las Vegas when they arrive.

The interior and exterior of the Grand Cherokee have been overhauled.  Better materials compliment the all new interior and the CommandView dual-pane sunroof provides twice as much glass surface than a standard-sized sunroof.  The new huge optional sunroof covers the entire roof with the rear portion being fixed and the front half sliding open.  If you are in the market for a mid-sized SUV, you might want to wait for a few months, when the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee should be arriving at Chapman Chrysler Jeep Henderson’s showroom floor.
