Sept. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Nearly 200 riders took part in the Right to Play Brussels to London Cycle Ride in July and raised more than £200,000 to help improve the lives of thousands of children around the world.

And the Great Britain women's volleyball team has recently ridden 272 miles from Sheffield to London over 4 days in order to help them raise £250,000 to fund their preparations for the 2012 Olympics.

Pennine Events, which organised both events on behalf of each organisation, is also assisting with the final part of the Istanbul to Leeds bike ride for Mike Tomlinson, wife of Jane Tomlinson, the famous cancer-beating fundraiser.

Mark Sandamas, Director of Pennine Events, said: “These multiple day, multiple location events are just getting bigger and bigger; they are drawing more and more participants and in turn raising significant sums for charities or other worthy causes.

“It’s awe-inspiring to see so many members of the public get on their bikes and put themselves through a challenge of a life-time in order to raise funds for others less fortunate than themselves or for a cause greater than themselves.”

Pennine Events is one of the country’s leading organisers of cycling events and works with charities, councils and health organisations, along with British Cycling, the UK’s governing body for road race cycling.
