Dugger Looking to Make a Statement at Kansas Lottery 150

Sept. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- Hearts of Oklahoma race fans following Russ Dugger are beating a bit quicker each day as the green flag for his next race draws closer, because they know he's in better equipment and better prepared to run up front than he ever has before.

The Kansas Lottery 150 in the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Re/Max and Menards  to be held at Kansas Speedway on Thursday, September 30th at 5:00pm EDT, will mark Dugger's return to ARCA racing and his second ever start on a mile-and-a-half circuit.  His first intermediate track start, in Texas earlier this year, saw him fight a loose car at a blisteringly fast track and finish in the top-15 on the lead lap.

While the Owasso, Oklahoma driver will have plenty of support from family and friends in the stands, those who can't make the trip to Kansas for the festivities beginning with the ARCA race and extending through Sunday with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will be able to watch their driver live on SPEED TV, with coverage beginning at 5:00pm EDT.

Dugger will again be piloting the familiar #12 Accell Construction Chevy, with an extremely strong engine and chassis package.  The pair held the title of "fastest car on track" in the recent Kansas test for about 30 minutes of the afternoon session, before the team decided to save what they had for the big show.  In fact, the car from the Texas race will be available as a back-up if necessary - but Dugger hopes that its tires will never touch the ground.

Accell Construction team owner Steve Todhunter, who has also sponsored the #12 truck of DGM team owner Mario Gosselin for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this year, has been eagerly awaiting his next opportunity to bring Dugger to the track in top-notch equipment.

Dugger has also reached an endorsement deal with another Oklahoma-based company - AD-renaline Marketing - who will be on-hand to witness the spectacle that is professional motorsports from the perspective of a sponsor for the first time.  AD-renaline has started a website in support of Dugger's career - www.ad-racing.net - and has aspirations to see their name featured prominently in racing with Dugger.

"We've been working closely with AD-renaline to educate them on all the ways we feel motorsports can augment what they do and help them meet their goals," said Dugger.  "I know that once they get to experience a race day from this angle, they'll see it in a whole new light, and I'm really excited to introduce them to my world at the race track."

On his prospects for the race, Dugger was upbeat, saying "We obviously want to run a smart race and see the checkered flag, but at the same time, we know how good the car was during the test, especially on old tires.  It's tough not to be excited when you realize that you might have a top-5 or top-10 finish in reach."

The Kansas Lottery 150 will draw plenty of attention as a fierce points battle for the ARCA championship is set to play out.  The field will be as strong as it has been all year, with NASCAR veterans such as Ricky Carmichael and Steve Park joining 2010 championship leaders Patrick Sheltra, Tom Hessert, and Craig Goess - all within 20 points of each other in the title chase.
