Nov. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- South Cobb High School will host, under the orchestral direction of Ms. Marilyn Ramsey and principal Ashley Hosey, The Ken Ford Foundation's first “Making the Violin Fun” workshop beginning with a full assembly on Thursday, November 11th with two sessions starting at 10:15am and the second one at 11:30am at South Cobb High School. The assembly is open to local business and community leaders.

With tremendous support from local school districts since its launch this summer, The Ken Ford Foundation and Executive Director, Annette Jackson is excited about the partnerships that are forming. “Our hope is that parents, teachers and schools begin to master their strings programming.  Sandra Erving, principal at Lindley Middle School,  was the first school to get behind the KFF vision immediately after we presented what our program had to offer students,” Ms. Jackson comments.  “Ms. Erving wholeheartedly supports The Ken Ford Foundation and because she embraced this program, South Cobb High School will conduct their first in a series of “Making the Violin Fun” workshops this month.”

A successful launch this summer with award-winning Electric Violinist, Ken Ford brought in an array of professional youth talent at the Porter Sanford Performing Arts Center manifested  a sold-out crowd for a concert which included Grammy-nominated songstress, Dionne Farris and Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter/producer/musician, Daniel Moore (The Mo’Nique Show).  After completing a successful  kick-off concert, Ken Ford now continues to bridge the gap between real life performances and music education with his success as he instructs students to "master your practice" at his signature workshops.

South Cobb High School will also hold additional Making the Violin Fun workshops on November 16th and November 20th consecutively for students.  Registration is currently open by contacting Mr. Ashley Hosey at South Cobb High School at 770-819-2611 or contacting Annette Jackson at The Ken Ford Foundation at 1-877-876-7697.
