Arlington Christian School Teacher Nominated in My Favorite Teacher Contest

April 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Mrs. Linda Hoyer was recently nominated by Makenzie Richardson in the Barnes and Noble "My Favorite Teacher Contest".  Makenzie, a senior at Pantego Christian Academy in Arlington, Texas, will be reading her essay honoring Mrs. Hoyer on Tuesday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Barnes and Noble located at the Parks Mall in Arlington.  

"While discovering that Makenzie considers me her favorite teacher is both humbling and startling, I am, however, not surprised that this creative, critically thinking young lady has received recognition for excellence, the common result of her efforts," said Mrs. Hoyer.  "She is a remarkable lady and the kind of student that PCA desires to send into this world.  I am so proud of her."

"I have an over the top admiration for Mrs. Hoyer.  It  was through her class that I abandoned my focus on the letter grade and instead strove to truly grasp a conceptual understanding of the works at hand," acknowledged Richardson.  "She has impacted my love for English and Speech."

As part of the night's contest, teachers will save 25% on classroom and personal purchases.  Immediately after the reception, a grant workshop focusing on the application process for Nooks and Books will be held.

Pantego Christian Academy has been an accredited member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) since 1988. PCA is accredited through the 12th Grade, and our curriculum is on a college-preparatory level.
