Pantego Christian Academy to Honor WWII, Pearl Harbor Veterans

Dec. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- A multi-generational mix of US military veterans will be honored through song, praise and prayer at a special chapel in their honor Wednesday, December 7th at Pantego Christian Academy.  The chapel, held on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, will honor and remember those who were part of that pivotal day in American history.   This date will mark the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Pantego Christian Academy is a Pre-K through 12th grade college preparatory school committed to developing children who will impact the world for Christ.    Distinguished guests at the Wednesday chapel will include veterans from many generations of PCA alumni, family, parents and grandparents.

“Today’s teenagers bear a responsibility to future generations,” says Pantego Christian Academy Dean of Student Life Dave Emler.”  They are among the last to know and spend time with those aging men and women who remember Pearl Harbor, who remember the emotion and the sacrifice.  We are honored to host an event to communicate the importance of distinguished service and also bridge a growing gap.”

Of the 21.8 million military veterans in the country, nine million are 65 and older.  The US Census estimates more than one million veterans live in Texas.
