Bishop Joe Simon has been officially notified by Louisiana Music Hall of Fame

July 11, 2011 - PRLog -- It was confirmed today that Bishop Joe Simon has been officially notified by La Musique de Louisianne Inc. President and Louisiana Music Hall of Fame Executive Director Mike Shepherd of his pending induction to The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame (LMHOF). Bishop Simon will be honored for his catalog of past Rhythm and Blues recordings as well as his current and classic Gospel hits. Bishop Simon will be joining Louisiana artists including Mahalia Jackson, Louis Armstrong, Fats Domino, Jimmie Davis and Johnny Rivers.

In conjunction, "There's A God Somewhere," written and recorded by Bishop Joe Simon, will be used as a track on the fundraising CD compilation for Louisiana's statehood bicentennial commemoration. The disc is being produced by the LMHOF and the Louisiana Bicentennial Commission, headed by General Russell Honore (Ret). The disc(s) will be sold at events across the State of Louisiana and thru the Bicentennial (http://www.LouisianaBicentennial2012.com) and The Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame (http://www.LMHOF.ORG) web sites during calendar year 2012. Proceeds will go toward funding the events of the Louisiana Bicentennial (1812 - 2012).

Arrangements and schedules are being worked with in order to have Bishop Simon and his Community Crusade in Louisiana during the Bicentennial period in order to coordinate his induction and appearance in conjunction with a bicentennial event.
