By: Boutique of Quality Books Publishing Company One of the “stars of the show” will be JoJo the Moustached Parakeet who is the main character in the book The Lonely Parrot, which was written by his “momma” and owner, Lisa Kelley. JoJo can be quite “chatty” at times, so kids may get a chance to hear him speak as well as to get “up close and personal” with the bird, and learn some valuable lessons on pet ownership at the same time. Attendees will also have a chance to speak with new authors whose books are still in the pre-publishing stages like R.E. Munzing, author of Beyond the Firefly Field, seventeen-year- The event is being sponsored by Boutique of Quality Books Publishing Company (BQB) as a part of their Raising Kids Who Read™ program that was created to focus on helping teachers and parents bring (or emphasize) the joys of reading into the lives of children of all ages. Startled by the statistics from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that “It is estimated that more than $2 billion is spent each year on students who repeat a grade because they have reading problems,” BQB wanted to do something, and their Raising Kids Who Read™ program was created. According to publisher, Terri Leidich, “Meeting people who are passionate about writing and who have written books we can hold in our hands, helps people of all ages get more excited about reading .” Humpus Bumpus is a locally owned independent bookstore that has been in Cumming for many years. # # # "The Writer's Publisher," Boutique of Quality Books showcases quality books by new writers. Our books are available through all large online sources as well as through booksellers around the country and on Kindle, Nook, and iBooks. End
