PhilHealth Names MDH as a Center of Excellence

Nov. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) formally recognized Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH) as a PhilHealth Center of Excellence during ceremonies held recently at the Crowne Plaza in Quezon City.
   
As part of its efforts to achieve world-class excellence, MDH had gone through rigorous accreditation procedures and has exerted hospital-wide efforts to meet stringent criteria articulated in the PhilHealth Benchbook. “Being named as a PhilHealth accredited Center of Excellence gives Manila Doctors Hospital such great pride and honor that it inspires our doctors and staff to continue to give their best in all their operations. It is a testament that the systems, processes, and standards that we implement are aligned with the standards set by the Philippine government. This ensures our patients and stakeholders that only the best care is given to them at MDH,” MDH Hospital Director Atty. Pilar Nenuca P. Almira said.

As a PhilHealth Center of Excellence, MDH was found to have been compliant with quality standards in the areas of patients’ rights, organizational ethics, patient care, safe practice and environment, leadership and management, human resource management, information management, and improving performance. MDH Hospital Director Atty. Pilar Nenuca P. Almira received the award presented by PhilHealth President Dr. Rey B. Aquino.

Manila Doctors Hospital is one of the 22 hospitals in the National Capital Region to be presented the highest accreditation award from PhilHealth. The said institution is the first hospital in Asia to be accredited by the Accreditation Canada International (ACI) and has been re-certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) recently, thereby adding three more years to its 6-year ISO accreditation.
